Drugs are an obvious problem that affect the majority of students and facility at Malden High School. Whether they are on drugs or know someone who has taken drugs, people are still affected.
We, as a class, think that Drug Abuse is a major issue and would like to make a difference. We are all very interested in this topic because not only does it affect us, but it affects everyone in various ways.
It is a worldwide issue and our goal is to decrease drug abuse beginning with Malden Public School students, and hopefully having and impact on a greater community.
Others should care about drug abuse because it affects the people living in our community-
Our school, as well as many others, can suffer when their students are on drugs. Drop-out rates will increase and MCAS scores and grades will go down. Grades are important because they affect where you're going to go in life.
You would want your kids to grow up in a community with out a drug dealer stopping them on the streets.
It takes a group to make a difference, but we can't make a difference with out the help of higher authorities.
If we wait too long to solve drug abuse problems, the number of people on drugs can sky rocket. Yes, the problem is already bad, but think about how much worse it would get if we let it conitnue for another several years.
If we just do nothing and wait around, more and more people could end up doing drugs. Drugs could be as common as cigarettes if we wait it out.
